National Fried Chicken Day

Scottish immigrants brought their tradition of deep-frying chicken in fat to the southern United States.  After its introduction to the American South, fried chicken soon became a staple. Over time, seasonings and spices were added to enrich the flavor of the chicken.  Then came the franchises…. but Momma’s chicken is always the best.

David is Scottish…. He likes a good homemade fried chicken…. sauteed greens & bacon…. mash potatoes….. pecan pie….  bring him lunch, he will let you color with the crayons…..

The Daily Creative

“Art is a nation’s most precious heritage. For it is in our works of art that we reveal to ourselves and to others the inner vision which guides us as a nation. And where there is no vision, the people perish.”

–Lyndon Johnson, on signing into existence the National Endowment on the Arts
