Michelle Dyk was born in Englewood, CO. She spent half her childhood in Lille, France, before moving to Billings, MT, growing up, and receiving her Fine Arts degree from MSU-Billings. She works out of her studio located in the Billings Open Studio in the heart of the historic downtown district.
“I’m excited about what has been happening in the art community here in Billings, and couldn’t be more thrilled about showing my work at SCRAP. I’ve experienced a great year of productivity. My motto has come to be, ‘Work to learn. Learn to work.’
Lately I’ve been experimenting with reflective materials. organic patinas, glitter, and iridescent sawdust. I have been playing with varying degrees of texture ranging from the smooth and industrial to the highly textured.”
