Dear friends, this is a call for art.
A local Artist from Billings, is facing a rare, aggressive form of cancer. As she stares down this darkness, she is turning her energy outward and embarking on an art project to hang at the cancer center – to give others hope.
She has invited us all to participate.
The idea is to thread handmade tags onto a wire hoop. Her daughter will then create a center component.
She is hoping to add 200-300 tags to the piece. The assemblage will be titled “Vision of Hope” and will exist as a beacon for everyone facing the brutal assault of cancer.
What I know of her, is that she is a force for love. To meet her is to meet a warrior for light and goodness.
In the spirit of community, to light the way for herr and for all the people we hold close in hard times, and with the fierce power of art, let’s fill this sculpture. Let’s make tags for hope.
Once in a while, we have an opportunity to connect and contribute to something bigger than ourselves, something epic,… this is one of those times.
With gratitude,
Sheri Jarvis
