Almost half way thru the Montana Fair, its time to update you with some pictures and thoughts of the fun we are having down here. Yes, the fair is about the rides, the music and the corn-on the cob, but it’s also about the animals and crafts too.
We more or less ‘moved’ the whole Upcycle Gallery to the newly remodeled 4-H building. 10 volunteers, 8 loads with a horse trailer, even more in cars and 2 trucks. We managed to get it all there with plenty of time to setup.
As you enter the 4-H building, you are immediately impressed with the Upcycle Gallery – artwork and furniture pieces from local artists- An amazing display of talent in a diverse display of media and repurposed materials.
On the left side are several of our partnerships we work with:
Blankets and Bears, Angel Horses, Wise Wonders Children’s Museum, and Better Billings Foundation Booknook project.
On the right side is a sampling of the donations we take, a silent auction of collections donated to SCRaP, and the Montana Art Council Map artists, showing their art and providing demonstrations for the fairgoers.
In the back of the building we have craft tables for the kids, each day offering 4 different crafts to create.
Finally we have a small vision of our Magic City Makerspace. Samples of projects and tools available for Makerspace Members. Members have access to our shared workshops and tools, and instruction from mentors and artists.
We want to extend our thanks and gratitude to all the donors and volunteers that have helped make this event possible.
