National Camera Day/National Waffle Iron Day

National Camera Day

Today commemorates photographs, the camera, and their invention. Before the invention of the camera, the only resource to document memories, events, and people/places was a painting. The power of a camera provides many with a simple, inexpensive and fast solution.

George Eastman, also known as “The Father of Photography,” brought the camera to the masses.  Though he didn’t invent the camera, he did invent many additions that improved the use, ease, and production of the camera, making it widely available to homes around the world.

National Waffle Iron Day

Who knew a simple machine would make such a big impact on our lives! Some people enjoy their waffles plain or with butter and flavored syrup, we like ours topped with strawberries & whipped cream.

The electric waffle iron is 98 years old this year, Nike used it to create a sole for footwear, eventually being called the “Moon Shoe” and the “Waffle Trainer”.

David likes his hot & crispy, with melted butter and maple syrup (just a hint).

The Daily Creative

I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.

– Maya Angelou

Once you have achieved a state of creativeness, you must never become lax about making things.
