Junk Journal 101

A junk journal is a personalized handmade book made up of repurposed items such as papers from old or new magazines, patterned paper, sheet music, envelopes, colorful maps, calendar pictures, odd greeting cards, post cards, and other decorative paper or craft items…

The book covers can be made from large theater candy boxes, cereal or other food type boxes (clean, of course) old phonograph covers or any hard card boards. The list is endless, especially when your creative imagination is sparked!

Creating a junk journal can be like keeping a diary but with memorabilia and keepsake items. You can make one out of memories, or add blank colorful pages to add personal thoughts. Write in your thoughts, memories, an occasion or an event that has touched you. Let it tell your story with pictures and crafty items. The best part is, you can use repurposed items that will share your memories, like the Junior Mint box from your theater ‘Date Night’….

Join us this Saturday to get started making your Junk Journal…
